A lot of people are WRONG about Jesus. But those who have met Him, love Him very much. Let me introduct Him to you.
He is LOVE and all things loving. He is the Creator of All and holds all power in His hands. He created everything that exists and has made us, given us our life and the freedom to choose good or evil.
Evil is in the world, but it has no power except what power we give it. But when we choose God, He becomes our One Love, our Protector, our Champion, our Counselor, our best friend who never leaves our side and our comfortor. He is all good things, faithful and true. He loves you with His whole heart and is always calling your name to come to Him and know how much He loves you!
Jesus said, "I am the Truth, the Life and the Way."
Jesus is TRUTH and it is important! Truth is something that gets lost in public opinion sometimes.
It is often easier to just go along with what everyone else is saying and thinking, or feeling, rather than searching out the TRUTH and standing on it.
How do we know the truth of who Jesus is? Or who God is? Where do we find the actual truth and be certain of it?
I will give you here three points to consider and think about for yourself with your own, independent thought and come to your own conclusion.
And I would love to hear what you think AFTER you have really considered, pondered and even meditated on these things.
ONE: God is a PERSON. He is a Spirit, but He is a person. Not an energy just floating around in the air. He is a person who loves, hurts and rejoices. He is infinite which makes Him different than any human being whom He created. He is All-Powerful and no one or nothing is equal to Him. There is no comparison to His power, might, love and grace.
We are told in the Holy Bible a few things that everyone who actually knows God, finds to be true. One is that He is shown to be a) A Heavenly Father, and b) Jesus, the Son who the Father sent to earth to be born in human form, and c) Holy Spirit who is here with us now. They are all One person - God.
In fact, the Bible also mentions the 7-fold Spirit of God, so there is apparently more to Him than we can know while we are still here on earth. Isn't that exciting.
So Who is God? What is He like?
This is where so many people get Him wrong. They read the scriptures not looking to know Him, but just to know 'about Him'. These are two completely different things. It's like if someone wrote a book about you...and everyone read it and said, "I know you" because they learned about when you were born and what school you went to, etc. But you had actually never met them before in your life!
This is how many, many people see God and Jesus, His Son. They say they have a relationship with Him but it's all in the head but not in the intimate, personal, deep-soul, loving relationship that you and I were created to have with this loving Heavenly Father.
Knowing Him lets you see and feel and experience Him in a real way. He still talks to you and walks with you, unseen, loving and kind. Through everything the world throws at you, He is there waiting to help you, encourage you, guide you into your best life.
GOD IS LOVE.
Anything that is not loving is not of God and is not from God. Evil is in the world. People bring it in when they agree with the evil that surrounds us. Even the little things sometimes gives that evil power in our lives. But God is good and Jesus made a way to free us from that. All of it!
CONSIDER THIS
The incredible design of the universe, the earth itself...of you, cannot be an accident. That would be scoffed at scientificall, if we are being unbiased, taking the calcualtion of probabilities into account.
Also, the beauty we feel proves we have a soul. Our emotions are more than chemical, although that happens, they begin in our "heart" which is not a physical heart but that mysterious, emotional being that we are, who lives inside of the body we inhabit.
Our spirit is the life force which flows through us and when broken, that life force effects our soul and our body. We know this to be true. When our spirit is broken, our life begins to decline in every external way. And when the Spirit of Life (God Almighty) comes to live inside us, we are changed from our core being with new life and His wonderful, loving energy!
Man sinned (which means we chose evil instead of good) which brought evil into our world. And there is no doubt that it is here.
And God, being perfectly just, has to go with whatever we choose - good or evil. He will not interfere with our choices even if we choose badly and believe evil lies and allow deception to rule over us. It breaks His heart becuase He loves us so, but He gives us the freedom to choose!
So...Jesus came. God on earth, born into human flesh, as a baby (we celebrate this at Christmas) and walked the earth, telling us how much we were loved, doing thousands of miracles proving who He was - THOUSANDS, and then making the ultimate sacrifice for us, to pay for you sins for you!
Jesus became the perfect, holy sacrifice, because He never sinned. So His blood, as He laid down His life for us on the cross, bleeding out, became our perfect sacrifice. This cleanses not only our lives but our hearts as well.
Jesus took our place and paid for our sins. He loves us and wants us to know Him, personally, as a friend and know His AMAZING LOVE for you.
The next section tell you how.
When Jesus died, His blood, death and then His resurrection, made provided the perfect sacrifice for you, to cleanse the evil from your blood, your mind and your heart.
On the cross, He ripped Heaven open so that we can actually come to the Heavenly Father, God Himself, and be what Jesus called, "Born Again". These were Jesus's words to describe the amazing transaction that happens when we come to Him.
To be cleansed in heart and be REBORN in spirit is this:
We believe Jesus and want to come to know Him, personally, and make God our god. This means we step off the thrones of our hearts and let Him take the throne. He is God and deserves nothing less.
When we make this decision, it is very similar to the difference between "dating" (religion) and "getting married" (born-again). When we dedicate our lives to Jesus...
His Spirit comes to live in us. Live inside our own spirits and we become one with Him. We are adopted as His own and His love begins to fill us. Sometimes (not always) we can feel this exchange happening to us.
He washes away all evil from our lives. This is why Jesus alway said, "Go and sin no more" becuase we don't want to put back the cancerous evil that has just been washed away. And if we do, He will always forgive again and wash us clean again.
Also, as this happens and we are born into the actual family of God, we become His heirs. This means everything He is and eveyrthing He has He now shares with us.
And He is AMAZING! Life on earth may or may not change for us, but inside we have Heaven living inside of us. But only if we take that crucial step to believe in Jesus, God on earth and make that commitment to follow Him - making Him the proper God over our lives instead of trying to be god over our own lives.
HE IS WAITING FOR YOU.
Simply take a moment and tell Him:
You believe Him
You want Him to forgive and cleanse you from all evil (sin)
You want Him to come and live inside you, Spirit-to-spirit to be made one with Him
You will follow Him in the best way you can.
Then take a moment and see if you can feel or hear Him come to you. Everyone's experience is different so no expectations. But it is always good to take a moment and see if you can feel in your spirit, this change.
If you do not feel it right now, that doesn't mean it didn't happen. God takes you at your word and He is there, right now, beside you, loving you and has already begun to make His promises to you come true.
Good next steps are:
1. Get a Holy Bible (New International Version is a good one). Some religions have rewritten the Bible so get this one, it's really good and true to the original writings. Start at the section called the New Testament (the second part of the Bible that begins with Jesus coming)
2. Pray - Talk to Him as a friend. Normal and naturally, just like He is someone there with you, becuase He is. He speaks your language and even jokes and laughs with you. Talk to Him all day and take alone time, too, to talk with Him uninterrupted.
4. Worship - that means that we remember how wonderful He is, what an increadible sacrifice He made for us and thank Him, make our heart glad in Him and speak out or sing out how wonderful He is.
5. Watch your choices. Holy Spirit now lives in you and you can feel when you are making good choices or bad...when you are speaking true and good words or bad. Choose well, especially your words.
And let the Love of God fill you, heal you and embrace Him as He embraces you as His beloved child and member of His own family.
6. Also, find other Christians who believe the Bible. As you read it you will want to find others who also read it and believe like you do. Finding others or finding a church can be daunting, but God lives in you now and will guide you. Ask Him to help you. It is wonderful being with others who really know Him and love Him and they should love you, too. And if you find a church, ask them about getting baptized.
Just remember: you do not give your loyalty to a church or any man...but only to God Himself. You and God are now an unstoppable team!
Let us know if you make this decision so we can rejoice with you and pray for you. And let us know if you have questions.
Old things are now falling away and new life is beginning to flow through you...a new way of thinking and living! Freedom, grace and power is now yours in Christ Jesus.
Talk to Him and listen. He is speaking to you.
Find and write out a few of these verses (below) from the Bible that may be helpful to you and put them on your wall.
You find them this way:
NAME OF BOOK (space) CHAPTER:VERSE
John 3:16
Look up the book in the table of contents. The chapters are the large numbered sections with little portions called verses numbered inside of those.
John 3:16
Philippians 4:8
1 John 4 (the entire chapter)
Note that John and 1 John are separate books. 1, 2 and 3 John are shorter books near the back
Stay in the New Testament for now. It tells of the new life in Jesus. The Old Testament is of ancient times and a little harder to understand.
GOD IS WITH YOU!
GOD IS FOR YOU!
GOD LOVES YOU WITH PASSION!
And He will never leave you alone!
